Everyone deserves a Nana.
Some stories aren’t written.
They’re stitched.
This is where Nana’s story lives.
The Dollhouse is the permanent home of Nana’s Quest collector
dolls.
Collections will come and go. Nana may change her clothes,
discover new crafts and wander into stories we haven’t even
imagined yet.
Every collection will have its own story, its own reason for
existing and its own little place in Nana’s Quest history.
Right now, we are standing at the very beginning.
Nana isn’t one woman.
Maybe your Nana taught you to sew.
Maybe she made you a coffee and somehow five minutes at her
table became an hour.
Maybe she told the same story a hundred times, and now you
would give anything to hear it once more.
Maybe you are becoming the Nana now.
Or maybe Nana represents the person you always wished you had.
Nana is that feeling.
The extra five minutes. The coffee. The story. The recipe
scribbled on paper. The button tin. The sewing machine.
The craft passed from one pair of hands to another.
Our own Nanas helped inspire the beginning of Nana’s Quest,
but the Nana doll was never meant to belong only to our family.
She belongs to all the different ways we remember, miss,
imagine and become Nana.
Everyone deserves a Nana.
The 21-Inch Founder Collection
This is the collection that begins The Dollhouse.
Only 25 dolls will ever belong to the
21-Inch Founder Collection.
Each Nana is handcrafted one by one from our camper on
rural land in Western Australia.
There is no warehouse filled with finished Nanas.
When another caretaker arrives, another Nana begins
on the sewing table.

Before Nana was Nana.
We brought you along while Nana was being figured out, so the
prototypes, experiments and slightly wonky bits deserve to stay
in The Dollhouse too.
She began as old white bed linen inside our camper. Her body,
clothes, cardigan, hair and tiny details were tested, pulled
apart and tried again until Nana slowly appeared.

The first version does not need to be perfect.
Sometimes it simply needs to teach you how to make
the next one.
The first Nana has left the camper.
Founder Nana No. 001 is finished.
After the prototypes, pattern changes, stuffing, yarn,
clothing, hair, glasses and all the tiny decisions in
between, the first Founder Nana finally existed.
She has now left our camper and gone to her first home
with Cailin’s mother-in-law, Michelle.
No. 001 marks the beginning of the collection.
One Nana has found her home.
Twenty-four remain in the 21-Inch Founder Collection.
Out into the world she went.

The Founder Collection was never about turning Nana’s Quest
into a giant doll business.
We are making these dolls because we want more people to
discover Nana’s Quest and the makers, stories and handmade
work that live here.
Every Nana who leaves our camper takes the name Nana’s Quest
somewhere new.
Someone might ask where she came from. Someone might discover
the marketplace. Someone might then discover a maker they
would never otherwise have found.

These first 25 Nanas belong to a very particular chapter
of Nana’s Quest.
They are being made from our camper while we live rurally
in Western Australia and build Nana’s Quest from the ground up.
Years from now, Nana’s Quest may look completely different.
The Dollhouse may contain entirely different collections.
But these will always be the Nanas made here.
The camper. The Founder Collection. The first 25.

collections in the future.
But only 25 dolls will ever belong to this
21-Inch Founder Collection.
The ones handmade in the camper.
